80th Independence Day Celebrated with Fervor at Sitapur Police Lines

Sitapur's Reserve Police Lines hosted a grand 80th Independence Day celebration, attended by State Minister Rakesh Rathore 'Guru'.

SITAPUR, INDIA – The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic fervor at the Reserve Police Lines in Sitapur on August 15, 2026. The event saw the hoisting of the national flag, a salute by the police guard, and the singing of the national anthem, creating an atmosphere of national pride.

Dignitaries and Celebrations

State Minister (Independent Charge) Shri Rakesh Rathore 'Guru' graced the occasion as the chief guest. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Sitapur District Magistrate Dr. Raja Ganapathi R. and Superintendent of Police Shri Ankur Agarwal. Following the flag hoisting, the chief guest addressed the gathering, extending his greetings and best wishes for Independence Day to all residents of the district and the police fraternity. He paid tribute to the martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence.

In his address, Minister Rathore commended the police force for its commendable contribution to national defense, internal security, and maintaining law and order. He emphasized the importance of dedicated and honest service to the nation.

The event was attended by various officials, including the Additional District Magistrate, Additional Superintendents of Police (North and South), all Circle Officers, the Reserve Inspector, in-charges of various branches, a large contingent of police personnel, and recruit police officers.

Awards and Recognitions

Following the address, the chief guest, District Magistrate, and Superintendent of Police honored officers and employees for their excellent and commendable work in various fields. The Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, awarded commendation service medals to the following for their distinguished services:

  • Shri Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, Inspector Confidential
  • Shri Pradeep Kumar Singh, Inspector
  • Shri Satish Chandra, Sub-Inspector Civil Police

Head Constable Amarendra Kumar द्विवेदी received a commendation sign and scroll from the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, for his operational duties.

The Director General of Police, UP 112 Lucknow, also presented commendation certificates to the following officers and employees for their excellent response time and commendable work in the district:

  • PRV of the Day PRV 6062 Team: Recognized for apprehending murder suspects near the crime scene and handing them over to the police station.

Additionally, the Superintendent of Police, Sitapur, presented commendation certificates to a total of 52 women police personnel for their commendable contributions on the occasion of the national festival of Independence Day.
