SITAPUR — Sitapur Superintendent of Police Ankur Agarwal on Tuesday chaired the monthly district crime review meeting at Dadhichi Sabhaghar in Police Lines, emphasizing zero tolerance toward crime, effective public grievance redressal, and swift justice for victims.
The high-level meeting was attended by all gazetted police officers, station house officers, and branch in-charges across the district. SP Agarwal reviewed pending cases related to serious offenses, including murder, dacoity, robbery, snatching, burglary, and vehicle theft, directing station commanders to expedite investigations and ensure prompt arrests of absconding criminals.
Crackdown on Organized Crime and Digital Tracking
Addressing organized syndicates, the district police chief instructed officials to initiate fresh proceedings under the Gangster Act, pursue strict asset attachments, and intensify raids to apprehend criminals carrying bounties. Officials were also ordered to expedite the physical verification of history-sheeters and update records on the Yaksha App to maintain continuous surveillance on habitual offenders.
Women Safety, Cyber Crime, and Road Safety
The review prioritized women's safety under the ongoing 'Mission Shakti Phase-6' campaign, praising the active role of Anti-Romeo squads and the functioning of women helpdesks at local police stations. To curb traffic accidents, Agarwal reviewed the deployment of speed laser guns, breathalyzers, and enforcement against illegal highway cuts under the 'Zero Fatality District' initiative.
Officers were further tasked with speeding up the recovery of stolen phones via the CEIR portal, freezing defrauded funds through cyber helpdesks, and monitoring social media. SP Agarwal warned that any negligence in resolving Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) petitions or public complaints would invite strict departmental action.
